Channel Islands Air Search

Channel Islands Air Search

As the island’s “eyes in the sky” the Channel Islands Air Search undertake a very important job under the most challenging of conditions. As a crew member James Ridout is well aware of the dangers and sacrifices made by the crew in order to keep the plane and service operational, despite existing only by public fundraising and donations.

After an unfortunate and much publicised mishap during 2014 James decided he would use the tools and people available at his disposal in order to update the training facilities and layout of the CIAS hanger, implementing several changes to the usability of the crew room, office space and hanger floor.

With a new mezzanine area and several coats of paint all around the property the CIAS was able to prepare for the arrival of their new aircraft in some much needed comfort.
